Congratulations to Gracian, our Dive Centre Assistant here at Scuba For Change, for passing his PADI Open Water Diver course!

A part of Scuba For Change’s mission is to improve the lives of local people through training and eduction.

Gracian is living away from his wife and family in a search for work to help his family back at home.

Gracian has already been working for another dive centre here in Puerto Galera but was never given proper training or prospects.

This was one of the reasons we wanted to employ Gracian as he loves to be in the water, loves to show all of the really cool animals we have here, and loves to help people.

Our plan is to take Gracian from Open Water all the way to Divemaster level so he will have a professional qualification, earn much higher wages and really have prospects for himself and his family.

We will be creating a very long lasting and positive legacy.

We are almost at the end of his Advanced Open Water course so soon we can start the Rescue Diver course.
