Amongst the massive problem of plastic and other human waste another of the issues is the illegal use of weighted fishing nets.

The nets sink to the bottom and indiscriminately catch all and anything.

Often the nets get stuck on the reef forcing the fishermen to cut them loose and then they are left to create maximum damage and the needless death of everything that swims into them.

Whilst on a house reef dive we came across one of these nets and we were able to save 4 of the 9 fish that were entangled and still alive.
